Virtual Service Project: Countryside Lakes

It’s been difficult to find ways to serve in corona times. At the same time, we know certain groups of people are feeling a particular loneliness and isolation due to their high risk. But there is something you can do!

Once a month, through the end of year, we will have a virtual service project supporting the residents of CountrySide Lakes assisted living facility. We’ll share the love, and bring good cheer through cards, letters, emails, pictures, and gifts to help overcome the loneliness of this time of isolation.

We’ll announce a specific Sunday that we will focus on these efforts, but feel free to send a letter or email at any time! More details below.

‪September 27th: Write a letter to the residents of CountrySide Lakes. Include details about your life like the make up of your household, what you like to in your spare time, what you job is, what the kids are up to (if applicable). Think about writing a letter to grandma, what would you say? Feel free to also include drawings or interesting articles you find. ‬

October 25: Send videos and pictures of your friends and family, your talents, a kiddo singing or dancing, a sunset, or anything else you find interesting. Email it to and include a description of what is in the video/picture and what it means to you. Stephanie Lynch (Director of Life Engagement at CountrySide Lakes) will share these with the residents. ‬

November 29: Send an email to Stephanie Lynch (Director of Life Engagement at CountrySide Lakes), and share with the residents of CountrySide Lakes about what’s going on in your world, what you enjoy doing with your time, hobbies, something interesting that happened to you today. Think about what you’d write to grandma. Feel free to include pictures or links related to your note. ‬

December 27: Check out this Amazon Wish List and select some items to send to CountrySide Lakes and bring them some Christmas cheer. Make sure to check the “this is a gift” option and include a note about your gift. The items will send directly to the facility. These little trinkets and treats will help bring joy to the residents at Countryside Lakes over the holidays. ‬
