I began my career in business, convinced that I would change the world through international travel and wild financial success. While I found my way into that realm quickly, it would appear the divine had other plans. Follow my professional journey through International Sales, Nonprofit Directorship, all the way to Founding an alternative spiritual community.

Missing Peace, Ormond Beach FL
Developed, organized, and funded a creative, nomadic worshiping community connecting with the divine and each other through physical activities, spiritual practices, cerebral engagements, and serving opportunities. Planned and developed gatherings inclusive of place and agenda, then recruited and trained a leadership team to aid in execution of events growing the community from 16 to over 300 (attended at least once), plus an online community of nearly 600.
1001 New Worshiping Communities Apprentice, August 2014-May 2016
PCUSA, Ormond Beach, FL
Performed guided research on planting a new worshiping community in Ormond Beach. Through coaching, expert lectures, and selected reading sources, discerned the fitness, character of, and participants in said community. Planned and executed the launch of Missing Peace.
Interim Children’s Ministry Director, August 2014-May 2015
Port Orange Presbyterian Church, Port Orange, FL
Creation of manuals and procedures for the Children’s Ministry program, as well as creating, communicating and executing programming for the year. Worked with session to streamline Children’s Ministry programming, and director’s use of time. Created new programs and documentation processes for ease of transition to permanent director.

As part of Clinical Pastoral Education, a 9 month internship including 300 patient contact hours and 100 class room hours. Responsible for the spiritual care of 7-10 patients including, regular visitation, active listening, sharing scripture, devotions, and words of encouragement. Required meticulous charting, record keeping and confidentiality.
Director of Youth and Children, August 2009 – October 2012
Christ Presbyterian Church, Ormond Beach, FL
Creation, development, and funding of all programming for youth and children. Including, reformulating the goals and pillars of the programs, instituting new processes for direction both long and short term, and making the ministries self-sustaining through fundraising taking church cost from over $120k to $40k. In addition, created and chaired a “task force” responsible for raising over $30k to close a gap in the church’s overall quarterly budget. And created a new website, email contact program, and use of online bill pay to further streamline operations and improve fiscal responsibility.

American Heart Association, Ormond Beach, FL
Responsible for raising funds, maintaining community presence, forming relationships with top community and company leaders, and organizing multiple community events. In two years raised over $650,000 through two major events (Heart Ball and Heart Walk), and several secondary events (CEO Breakfast, Wear Red Day, and National Start! Walking Day). The Heart Ball caters to the most influential in the community and requires coordination of invites, event site, décor, audio visual, food selections, speaker coordination, scripts, and entertainment for up to 300 guests. The Heart Walk, attended by over 1500 local residents, includes working with city and county officials, local vendors, entertainment, guest speakers, community volunteers and sponsors to create a memorable experience for attendees while keeping expenses at an absolute minimum. Total expenses for all events were kept under 10%.

Managed H-E-B’s participation in philanthropic events, such as the American Diabetes walk, recruiting volunteers and allocating product donations. Made preliminary decisions on appropriate organizations for H-E-B to support financially. Created filing system for all donations submitted 2005-2006 for the H-E-B Community Investment Program. Maintained data entry system and updated records as needed. Conducted weekly evaluations of all office administrative responsibilities to ensure best possible performance.
